Alternatives to Regular Health Insurance

alternatives to regular health insurance

We believe there’s no reason you have to go without health insurance. And there’s every good reason to avoid being under-insured.  Whether you find yourself without coverage between open enrollment periods, or haven’t yet considered supplementing your current coverage with additional benefits designed to help you reduce out-of-pocket costs,
HSA for America
offers affordable, valuable solutions for just about any situation.

Opt Out of Obamacare, with a Health Care Sharing Plan

If you are fed up with the outrageous monthly premiums associated with today’s Affordable Care Act (ACA) plans, (especially if you don’t receive a monthly subsidy to help with payments!), you’re not alone. Luckily, there’s an alternative to ACA plans that allows you to *legally opt out *of this typically government-mandated coverage. Health Care Sharing Ministries (HCSMs) offer *much lower monthly costs* for their members (typically *less than 1/2 the cost* of an ACA plan). Though these plans are not insurance policies, they do offer protection of up to $1 million per person.

Short-term Medical Plans

Short-term medical plans are the popular choice for people who want solid health coverage to bridge the gap between open enrollment periods.  Short-term coverage is available for 30 days to 11 months.  Depending on where you live, you can choose how long you want short-term coverage, and it can begin the day after you enroll.

Critical Illness Plans

Even if you have major medical insurance, an unexpected or serious illness can cost you thousands in out-of-pocket costs before meeting your deductible.  Critical illness coverage can help pay for medical treatment, as well as compromised living expenses, resulting from your illness.

The benefits of adding a critical illness plan to your insurance coverage offer important protection for a number of health conditions such as cancer, heart attack, stroke, organ transplant, paralysis, burns, Alzheimer’s, and more.  A large number of HSA for America clients add a critical illness plan as an addition to major medical coverage.

Supplemental Accident Plans

You may feel at ease having major medical insurance.  That’s a good thing! But what if you or a family member on your plan suffers an accident that requires hospitalization, surgery or other treatment? You could be out-of-pocket thousands of dollars before you even meet your major medical deductible.

Supplemental Accident plans can cover you up to $10,000 after a $100 deductible.  You can sign up for a $2,500 coverage plan for less than $30 per month.

Accidents happen.  Be prepared with a low-cost accident plan.
